Absolutely awesome surgeon! Very personable and a brilliant at communicating on whatever level might be required. A nervous patient who may be concerned over surgery - is foremost in Dr Pauls mind. Everything is explained and all needs are met. I had a dangerous knee revision with Dr Paul - when other surgeons were too nervous to do it. He told me all the risks but assured me he could do it. I walked out of the hospital with no crutches 48 hours after surgery and didn't look back. He then went on to do a total knee replacement 6 months later on my other knee. Walked out with no crutches after 24 hours and never looked back. Yes - I did follow advice to do all the necessary exercises etc. but his direction was sound and seems to have left me up and raring to go age 64.

Dr Paul Macnamara who specialises in Hips & Knees surgery is outstanding. I suffer from severe Osteoarthritis so last year in May I had a left knee replacement with Dr Paul. 2 mths later I had my right knee replacement surgery which was far more complicated due to the angle of my lower leg from arthritis. Dr Paul performed amazing surgery on both my knees. I walk normally with straight legs. His aftercare of his patients is excellent and one can ask any questions. Next month he is doing my surgery for the 3rd joint - a Left Hip Replacement. I have complete trust and faith in Dr Paul who is an excellent surgeon.

Dr Macnamara is an extremely competent, skilled surgeon. After my hip operation, he had me up and walking within two hours, which was a great start to my recovery. The after care I received was also exceptional and I highly recommend him.

I had a hip replacement in October 2022 with Doctor Paul Macnamara. In my experience the process was really smooth, Doctor Paul was very reassuring, everyone in the hospital very professional. Recovery after the operation was very fast…..I was walking almost immediately afterwards…began working again within a few days and up to full speed more or less within a week. 6 months down the line The operation has been a 100% success….I should’ve had it done earlier. I’ve gone from the situation pre-operation of walking with pain and a pronounced limp, disrupted sleep etc, to running and cycling like I did 10 or 15 years ago. Amazing. If only all the other joints felt the same! Based on my experiences, I would use Doctor Paul again without any question.

Over the years I suffered severe knee pain. Met different doctors in Dubai that would try to sell me all sorts of “medicines” (usually not covered by insurance). Dr Paul was the first that did not try to sell me a medicine or a surgery, and instead was genuinely interested in my recovery by suggesting simple home exercises. My knees are finally on its recovery phase.

Dr. Macnarmara, instilled so much confidence in us from the first meeting. He performed my mothers total knee replacement and I have to say that his care and follow up were just what we needed. He was available to us at all times, and very patient with our questions. Normally we would have had this surgery in Singapore, but there was no regret having it here in Dubai with Dr. Macnamara.
