Sheet 00 Contractor Development Program

You're Great At The Work On Site. Now Build The Business Around It.

The Contractor Development Program is a structured 8–12 week advisory engagement that installs Blueprint's project management methodology directly inside your trade or GC business. We build and implement the systems around how you actually operate.

Sheet 01 Why It Matters

Most Contractors Learn The Trade. Nobody Teaches Them The Business.

Your company usually doesn't struggle because your crews are bad at the work on site. It struggles because the business running the work doesn't have the systems to support it.

Change orders aren't being submitted. Billing is running weeks behind the work on the ground. Jobs are priced on gut feel instead of real numbers. The schedule exists in the owner's head, not on paper. And at the end of a busy year, the profit isn't where it should be and nobody can explain exactly why.

These aren't character flaws. They're the natural result of building a business around being good at a trade, without ever being taught how to run the operation behind it. Most contractors were never shown how — they learned the work, the business came after, mostly by trial and error.

Blueprint built the CDP to change that. Not with generic business advice, but with the specific systems, processes, and frameworks that construction businesses actually need to run profitably and predictably.

Sheet 02 The Engagement

A Structured Program. Not A Course. Not A Coaching Call.

The CDP is an 8–12 week structured advisory engagement. One 60-minute call per week, every week, with Brenden directly. No junior consultants, no pre-recorded content, no generic frameworks pulled from another industry.

Each session has a defined focus. The program follows a structured sequence that builds one system on top of the next — starting with how the business is currently operating and what needs to change, then working through pricing, project management, documentation, billing, and operations until the methodology is embedded and running.

At the end of the engagement, contractors have the option to continue on customized terms, or just stay in touch for the next bid opportunity. Now that we know you have the systems in place, we can confidently recommend you to our developer and GC partners.

Sheet 03 Two Tracks

Different Tracks For Trade Contractors And General Contractors.

The CDP runs two distinct tracks. The content, the focus areas, and the systems are different because the problems are different. You're enrolled in the track that matches your business.

Track A

Trade Contractors

The trade track is built for contractors who are technically excellent but running their business reactively. The program works through how to price jobs, how projects are managed, how change orders and billing are handled, and how the business operates day to day. By the end, the contractor has a pricing system that protects margins, a project management process that doesn't rely on memory, and a documentation standard that holds up when things get complicated.

Who This Is For

Trade contractors with revenues between $250K and $5M. New construction focus — wood framing, concrete formwork, exterior siding, drywall, finish carpentry, roofing, insulation, flooring, painting, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and landscaping (though we've worked with almost every trade).

Track B

General Contractors

The GC track is built for small to mid-sized general contractors managing more complexity than their current systems can handle. The program works through PM infrastructure, pre-construction controls, financial clarity, and the operational systems required to manage multiple trades and multiple projects without everything depending on one person. The goal is a GC business that can scale without the owner being the bottleneck.

Who This Is For

General contractors with revenues between $500K and $10M. Single-family, custom homes, high-end renovations, commercial tenant improvements, and small to mid-sized multifamily projects.

Sheet 04 What You Walk Away With

Everything We Build Stays With You For Good.

Trade Contractors

  • A pricing system that accounts for labour, overhead, and profit on every job.
  • A project management process built for how trades actually work on site.
  • A change order and billing system that keeps cash flow in sync with the work.
  • Documentation standards that protect the business when disputes come up.
  • A clearer picture of where the money is going and why.

General Contractors

  • A PM infrastructure that doesn't depend on one person knowing everything.
  • Pre-construction controls that reduce the gaps between estimating and delivery.
  • Financial visibility across multiple projects.
  • Operational systems and repeatable processes that make managing trades more predictable.
  • The foundation to take on larger, more complex work without the chaos.
Sheet 05 Blueprint & BuildBox

Build Systems In The CDP. Then Grab The Software That Runs Them.

Blueprint co-founded BuildBox — project management software built specifically for trade contractors. During the CDP, contractors build the systems and processes their business needs. BuildBox is the tool that makes those systems sustainable: keeping projects organized, documentation in order, and clients informed without adding administrative burden.

The CDP doesn't require BuildBox, but for contractors who want their new systems to run on purpose-built software rather than spreadsheets and text messages, it's the natural next step.

Sheet 06 Worth Being Direct About

The CDP Only Works When You're Ready To Change How The Business Operates.

The CDP is not for contractors looking for a shortcut or someone to run their business for them. The program requires involvement, follow-through, and a willingness to change how things are done. Every session builds on the last. If you're not in a position to do the work between calls, the engagement won't deliver what it should.

Blueprint is selective about who enters the program for this reason. A strategy call is the right place to figure out whether the timing and the fit are right.

Sheet 07 What Clients Say

Blueprint helped position my business to grow steadily and take on more profitable projects. I highly recommend them to anyone who truly wants to scale their construction company.
